Join Sewcial Fridays for a weekly dose of sewing every Friday until Christmas! Whether you're looking to create personalized Christmas gifts, unique Christmas decorations, or simply want to enjoy a relaxing start to your weekend, enjoy cozy, hands-on projects with expert guidance, cake, coffee and great company - all in the charming Christmas-decorated café in Genthod. Bring your sewing machine, or feel free to borrow one of ours. ​​

Sewcial Fridays are for those who have basic sewing skills, to those who have more experience. 

​

Sewcial Fridays will be hosted by Hanne Thye Frosch and with Iris Maag behind the counter of the café. Both of us share a passion for sewing and have found that we sew better in the company of others!  Our objective is to keep the craft of sewing alive by inspiring people to sew their own clothes and to pass on the joy of sewing.

What you need to bring

• Sewing machine

• Fabric

Included in the price

• A cake and two cups of coffee or tea. 

• Inspiration on what to sew and choice of fabric

• Access to a variety of patterns

• Selection of Christmas-themed fabrics and ribbons

• Sewing equipment – pattern paper, scissors, pins, seam ripper, sewing thread etc. are available

• 3 hours of sewing with assistance when needed

• Iron and ironing board

• Relaxed and friendly environment

 

Please indicate if you want to borrow a sewing machine when signing up.

Dates

Sewcial Fridays will be held on every Fridays except vacations and a few other occasions.

​

Sewcial Fridays will be held on the following Fridays until summer: 1/11, 15/11, 22/11, 29/11, 6/12 and 13/12. Sewcial Fridays will resume in the new year.

Sewcial Fridays has a maximum capacity of six to eight participants for each session.

Pay as you go

CHF 50 per session. With pay as you go alternative, you can reserve in advance, depending on availability that Friday.
